Obviously, I can't prove this because they covered their tracks well and also I made up a bunch of the evidence, but think about it. To obscure the truth, Robert chooses the name of a famous film producer, so any googling with by jumbled up with stuff about 'the Godfather' and 'Chinatown'. Here's my theory: Pargin gets Robert his job at Cracked.buuuut to avoid the appearance of nepotism and so he'd be able to forge his own path, they both agree to avoid each other professionally and Robert uses a fake name. We know Pargin uses fake names at times, and some episodes of BtB have alluded to Evans using multiple names either as pen names. Similarly, Robert's claimed to have lived in damn near every red state there is: Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas and Montana. Although, he's always been oddly coy about specifying. We know Pargin lives in a red state from episode 60 of Quick question with Soren and Dan. Maybe that's one thing they can agree upon.

Pargin also expressed similar beliefs about gun rights and minorities access as Evans on this cracked podcast episode: The Gun Show. Robert's also spoken of his dad thinking '300' was a great metaphor for modern politics, which Pargin alluded in oddly similar terms in the Cracked podcast episode ' Why Hollywood Always Gets the Apocalypse Wrong'. It's also possible Pargin has changed his outlook since Robert was a child. We know Robert has referred to his background as 'conservative', although considering his place on the political spectrum, that could mean a lot. Jason Pargin/David Wong is Robert's estranged father. They also never featured together on an episode of any of the old cracked podcast.īizarre considering they worked together for years and their writing and research interests overlaps considerably. His musings about Trump, fascism, red states and blue and, in my opinion, was one of the best parts of the old Cracked podcast. He discusses complex topics thoroughly and carefully, while making them interesting and entertaining, much like Robert. He's an ideal guest for many reasons - he appreciates nuance, much like robert.
